よく自撮りしますか？自撮りというのは、友達と、または一人で、スマホで自分たちの写真を撮ることです。今はスマホが普及して性能のいいカメラを簡単に使えるようになったので、自撮りする人がとても増えたと思います。私が中高生の頃はスマホがなかったので、今ほど簡単に自撮りすることができませんでした。じゃあ、何をしていたと思いますか？プリクラです。今日は、私の青春「プリクラ」について、みなさんに紹介します。
プリクラという名前ですが、「プリント倶楽部」の略です。5人ほどが入る箱の中でインスタント写真を撮影し、それがシールに印刷されます。だいたい1回撮るのに400円かかって、撮影に何分、落書きに何分というように、時間制限があります。ちなみに落書きと言っても本当に写真にいたずら書きをするのではなくて、日付や名前、メッセージなどを写真に書き込むんです。
プリクラも、今の自撮りのアプリと同じように技術が進化していて、落書きのスタンプが可愛くなったり、自動で目が大きくなったり足が長くなったりするものもありました。放課後プリクラを撮りに行ったり、プリ帳というノートを作ってプリクラを貼ったり、プリ交換をしたり、私の青春はプリクラなしでは語れません！
日本に来ることがあれば、ぜひゲームセンターに立ち寄って、プリクラを撮ってみてください。きっと、自分の目の大きさや顔の小ささにびっくりすると思います(笑)
Do you often do jidori? Jidori is Japanese for selfie and it means taking photos of friends or yourself with your smartphones. As smartphones have become more widespread and high-quality cameras have become more user friendly, I think that the number of people doing jidori has increased significantly these days. When I was in middle and high school, there were no smartphones, so it wasn't as easy to do jidori as it is now. So, what do you think I did those days? Purikura of course. Today, I’m going to introduce you to the purikura of my younger years.
The name "purikura" is short for "print club.” You take instant photos in a photo booth, which can hold up to about 5 people, and these photos are then printed on stickers. It costs about 400 yen, and there is a time limit to take photos and to do some scribbling on the photos. By the way, scribbling does not really mean scribbling on the photo, but rather writing the date, name, and a message on the photo.
Purikura, just like today's selfie apps, has improved, with cute stamps for scribbling and a function that makes your eyes bigger and legs longer. I often went out to take purikura after school, and created a notebook called puri-cho and exchanged stickers with my friends…in fact I can’t talk about my younger years without mentioning purikura!
If you ever come to Japan, please stop by a game centre and take a purikura picture. I am sure you will be surprised at how big your eyes are and how small your face is lol.
