日本では、2022年の6月から、2年以上ぶりに外国人観光客の受け入れが始まりそうです。入国前のPCR検査や入国後の隔離など、まだ旅行のハードルはありますが、それでも日本に来られるチャンスは増えたのではないでしょうか。
さて、今日は、日本に旅行する前に知っておきたい、日本国内のおすすめスポットについてご紹介します！このポッドキャストを聞いてくれている方々は日本に興味がある人でしょうから、「そんなの知ってるよ」と思うかもしれません。そこで、今回は「知る人ぞ知る」穴場を厳選してみました。
1つ目は、北の大地、北海道から。北海道のちょうど真ん中あたりにある、美瑛という地域です。ここには「青い池」と呼ばれる池があります。その名の通り青い色の池なんですが、この色が本当に美しいんです！水が鮮やかな青で、枯れたカラマツとあいまって幻想的な風景になっています。池の色は、季節や天候によって異なり、春は少し青緑に、初夏はライトブルーになるそうです。
2つ目は、大内宿という、日本の宿場町の1つ。宿場町とは、徒歩や馬で移動していた江戸時代に整備された、宿を中心に発達した町のこと。大内宿には、今も江戸の風情が残っています。昔は宿やが多かったようですが、現在はいくつかの民宿とお土産屋、食事処が軒を連ねています。名物「ねぎそば」を目当てに訪れる人も多いそうです。また、冬には雪灯籠の幻想的な光景が楽しめますよ。
さて、最後に紹介するのはしまなみ海道です。しまなみ海道は、広島県尾道市と愛媛県今治市を結ぶ全長約60kmの海に浮かぶ道です。7つの島どうしをつなぐそれぞれの橋には自転車道が整備されていて、「サイクリストの聖地」としても知られています。島ごとに特徴があって、どの島でも美味しい海鮮やきれいな景色を楽しむことができますよ。気候のせいか四国の人は温かい人が多く、地元の人と交流してみたい人にもおすすめです。

Although there are still various hurdles to cross in travelling to Japan, such as PCR testing before entry and quarantine after entry, your opportunities to come to Japan have increased, haven't they?
Today, I’m going to introduce to you some recommended places,which you should know about before you come to Japan! People listening to this podcast probably already have an interest in Japan, so you may think that you already know about all the popular tourist destinations.Therefore, I tried to select well-kept secret spots, which are known only by a few people.
The first place is from the land of the north, Hokkaido. It is located exactly in the middle of Hokkaido and is called Biei. In Biei there is a pond called “Blue pond.” As the name implies, the water is blue, and the colour is really beautiful! The bright blue of the water, combined with the withered larch trees, creates a breathtaking view. The colour of the pond varies with the season and the weather, appearing blue-green in spring and light blue in early summer.
The second secret spot is one of Japan’s Shukuba-machis in Ouchi-juku. A shukuba-machi is a town that developed around inns, which were established during the Edo era when people travelled on foot or horseback. Ouchi-juku still retains the Edo-era atmosphere. There used to be a lot of inns, but today there are only some guesthouses, souvenir shops, and restaurants lining thel street. Many people seem to come especially to taste the local speciality, green onion soba. You can also enjoy the fantastic sight of snow lanterns in winter.
The last secret spot I want to introduce to you is Shimanami kaido. It is a road of approximately 60 km long that floats in the ocean and connects Onomichi-city in Hiroshima and Imabari-city in Ehime. A bicycle path, consisting of bridges, connects the seven islands, and is therefore known as a “mecca for cyclists.” Each island has its own unique characteristics, and you can enjoy delicious seafoods and beautiful scenery on every island. The people of Shikoku are warm and welcoming, maybe because of the climate, so I recommend this place to people who want to interact with the locals.
